From skeptic to superfan
The location is central and convenient for work evening strolls while offering excellent canal views and friendly staff who helped find a great dinner spot.
Steep, narrow stairs made it difficult to carry luggage, and the room was uncomfortably small for a family's stay.

I truly enjoyed great little room in this hotel.
I had really really nice days staying at this low budget hotel. Everything was fine, amazing location near to the centre and hustle and bustle and central to Dam Square and taxi, excellent staff. The room with space for a bed. Having a kettle and a travel kettle was very convenient...

really good location, unique architectural charm, charming common areas
Those infamous steep, narrow stairs can be quite hazardous for heavy luggage!!! The size of the rooms leaves much to be desired, especially for families. Poor bathroom ventilation could also use some attention!!!

The owner was so nice and very helpful! Great breakfast and some of the best coffee I've ever had! We stayed on the top floor and he even had our luggage brought to the room so we didn't have to carry it up the stairs!

Clean, cozy.
Not suitable for long stays. Too bad there's no kettle.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Location was perfect, walking distance to many attractions and public transport. Free wifi. We enjoyed our stay.
Steep narrow stairs could be a problem for some travellers, but staff were willing to take bags up for guests. Parking is available, but expensive,30euro for 1day and 20 per day after that. But is a standard price for Amsterdam hotel parking service, much cheaper than on the street!

Perfect location on a beautiful canal and right in the center. Clean. The staircase is quite an adventure. ))
The twin room is extremely small - not really enough palce for 2 people and luggage, thought i guess it's a kind of norm for Amsterdam. It did not make much sense to pay for the room with a shower, cs the shower appeared to be right in the room, just behind a semi-transparent curtain, so we actually used a shared one, which at least had a door..

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Location was excellent.
Fortunately I was alone. The double room sleeping accommodation was not big enough for two people.

Small but nice hotel near by centre of Amsterdam. Very calm neighbourhood. Sufficient food choices at brakfast and nice hotel service.

The location of the hotel is very good as it is situated at one of the major canalS, in the old part of the city. The building is from the 17th century, which adds also to the experience.
The facilities are quite poor; there is no elevator and the toilets are outside rooms. The showers represent a low standard and their construction contributes to the humidity in the room. The rooms are very small as well. All in all, the traveller will experience 16th century comfort.
